Mission Statement THE MISSION of the Samuel C. Leigh Memorial Scholarship is to remember and honor the ultimate sacrifice that Major Samuel C. Leigh, and countless other brave men and women, have made fighting to protect the freedoms that we all enjoy. The Samuel C. Leigh Memorial Scholarship will provide financial assistance to young men and women who exemplify strength of character, discipline, and a willingness to lead. Our primary mission is to endow and award graduating seniors from Forest Hills High School and Messalonskee High School, Major Leigh’s alma mater, an annual scholarship to be applied to the cost of pursuing a degree at an accredited college. The recipient of this award will be an individual(s) who best portray Major Leigh’s commitment to excellence through community and school. The Samuel C. Leigh Memorial Foundation asks for your generous support to permit us to keep Major Leigh’s memory alive by helping to advance those who are less fortunate seek higher education. Thank you.
